Safety Day
Event Details
March 14 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
SkyDance SkyDiving will be hosting our annual USPA Safety Day on Saturday, March 14th, and all members of the skydiving community are invited to join us. Traditionally held each year in early March, Safety Day is organized by the United States Parachute Association and hosted by drop zones across the country as a time to focus on learning, preparation, and safe practices before the main skydiving season gets underway.
Safety Day is open to everyone, regardless of experience level. Whether you’re a brand-new student, a recently licensed skydiver, or a seasoned jumper with thousands of jumps, the goal is the same: come together as a community to talk about safety and share knowledge that helps all of us stay sharp in the sport. Skydiving is a team activity, and Safety Day is an opportunity to strengthen that team by learning from each other.
Throughout the morning we’ll cover a variety of topics related to safe skydiving, including equipment considerations, aircraft procedures, canopy flight and landing patterns, emergency procedures, and lessons learned from real-world experiences. These discussions are designed to refresh important fundamentals while also giving jumpers the chance to ask questions, exchange ideas, and hear different perspectives from instructors and experienced skydivers.
One of the most valuable parts of Safety Day is the stories and conversations that happen when skydivers share experiences. The lessons we learn from each other help build awareness and judgment that can make a difference in the air. Our goal is simple: reinforce a culture of safety so everyone can continue enjoying this incredible sport for many years to come.
